IYENGAR YOGA

Iyengar yoga Is a dynamic form of Hatha yoga which will help you increase your strength and flexibility. Based on the teachings of B.K.S. lyengar, this method is distinguished by the importance placed on correct alignment in postures to help facilitate balance in the body. The benefits of regular yoga practice are numerous:

The Handstand or Adho mukha vrksasana

This pose is beneficial in so many ways once mastered, (not taught at beginners level), it not only has a weight bearing affect on the body but is also classed as an inversion, (a pose which takes you upside down), therefore allows for better venous return, (blood flow to the heart). It also strengthens wrists and contribites to full flexion in wrists.
A very exhilarating pose often done to awaken body and mind at the beginning of the practise of yoga.
